Hank Walker

Hank WalkerHank first formed the nucleus of dyssia with Petar back in 1991 when the two were classmates and decided to form a band based on their musical collaborations. Of Croatian descent, Hank is famous for his boundless energy and unorthodox perspective. He was also known for the fact that he played guitar like a bass by picking individual notes for the most part as opposed to strumming chords. This stemmed largely from the fact that Hank first learned to play guitar on a bass. On a musical note, he also only used five strings on his guitar, removing the high E string from his instrument. Don't ask why, it just sounded better when he played it that way.

In addition to his duties on guitar, Hank was also one of the primary songwriters of the band. Whenever Petar wasn't composing melodies on his bass, Hank would come up with his own unique guitar licks. He was also a lyricist and wrote such songs as "Coelemates", "E.S.-4", "The Last Perfect Day", and "Pioneer" just to name a few.

Since the breakup of the band, Hank has been largely inactive on the music scene. He studied linguistics at both Carleton University and the University of Ottawa and he continues to live in Ottawa along with his wife, Jennifer, and their children.
