Picklecatz
Neither feline nor briny, Ottawa's own Picklecatz would take to the stage with a mission to make audiences feel "real swanky"! For an all-too-brief eighteen months from May 2002 to November 2003, the Picklecatz combined energy, verve, and a whole lot of groove to play a few tunes, have a lot of fun, and even start a few toes tapping along the way. We used to warn people not to be surprised if they woke up the day after a show with Picklecatz oozing through their head... or perhaps they just had one too many pickled eggs?
For the duration of the band's short lifespan, the Picklecatz made their home at what was dubbed 'The Lava Lounge', their rehearsal space, bass player's home, Smash! arena, and musical laboratory for concocting and experimenting with various compositions. These were performed at Ottawa venues along with other acts of derring-do. This little web site is an archive of what was once the official online home of the Picklecatz but feel free to look around, lend an ear, and don't be afraid to get a little bit pickled.
Special Thanks
- To Rob, Anna, and Adam for letting the band use the Lava Lounge.
- To Boris for everything he did that was way beyond the call of duty.
