The Music

Alternately described as rock, blues, and surf, some of the Picklecatz's swankier tunes could almost be called lounge-style. Whatever song you heard, you could tell that the band was having a blast, constantly tweaking and tuning the songs until the last bit of groove was squeezed out of them. Troy Jones was the primary composer and songwriter on most of the originals although Patrick Calnan also composed a couple. But building a Picklecatz song was a collaborative affair. An interesting riff, an offhand comment, a friend walking in the door -- all of these could form an embryo that eventually grew into a full-fledged Picklecatz song.
