Picklecatz Return To The Ottawa Fringe Festival Ottawa, June 10, 2003 - One year ago, an unknown Ottawa band with the unusual name Picklecatz took to the Fringe Club stage and gave a remarkably memorable performance. Fast forward twelve months to the 2003 Ottawa Fringe Festival where the Picklecatz return to a venue that began their evolution into one of the most entertaining musical acts the city has to offer. "The 2002 Fringe Festival provided us with a perfect venue for getting our feet wet (literally) as performers and presenting our all-original sounds for the first time to a new and appreciative audience," says Troy Jones, lead guitar and vocalist with the Picklecatz. "It also gave us the opportunity to explore the possibilities of presenting our interactive show to a live crowd. The whole experience was a lot of fun!" Getting outside and performing live is a vital part of the group's mission as Jones summarizes: "The Picklecatz are more than just a band. We want you to enjoy the music and be a part of the whole experience. To take a piece of it home with you. This year, we've gotten even better musically and strive to be just as entertaining in and around the music." This year's performance begins at 7:00pm on Sunday, June 29th at the Fringe Club which is located behind the Arts Court building at the corner of Daly and Waller Streets. Ottawa's own Picklecatz are one of the most interesting and compelling bands to hit the local music scene in years. Through a variety of eclectic musical stylings, the all-original Picklecatz weave a rich tapestry of melodies into hypnotic grooves bound to stay with you long after the Picklecatz experience is over.
